Christmas Eve

My blog has lain dormant for almost a month. I have been very busy. Now, here it is, Christmas Eve. I am so filled with gratitude, love, peace and joy. If God is with us, who is against us?!

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs.

It was not a silent night
There was blood on the ground
You could hear a woman crying
In the alleyway that night
On the streets of David's town
And the stable was not clean
And the cobblestones were cold
And little Mary, full of grace
With the tears upon her face
Had no mother's hand to hold

It was a labour of pain
It was a cold sky above
But for the girl on the ground in the dark
Every beat of her beautiful heart
It was a labour of love

Noble Joseph by her side
Calloused hands and weary eyes
There were no midwives to be found
On the streets of David's town
In the middle of the night
So he held her and he prayed
Shafts of moonlight on his face
But the baby in her womb
He was the Maker of the moon
He was the Author of the faith
That could make the mountains move

It was a labour of pain
It was a cold sky above
But for the girl on the ground in the dark
Every beat of her beautiful heart
It was a labour of love
Little Mary, full of grace
With the tears upon her face
It was a labour of love

~Andrew Peterson

God is so good. I've questioned Him so many times...and for what?
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace among men on whom His favor rests.
Merry Christmas to you all, and God bless us, every one.

Love,
Shelley
